On Thursday, December 28, the world was gifted the Pop-Tarts Bowl edible Pop-Tarts mascot. On the same night, he was killed. We will always celebrate his large strawberry smile, his kind eyes, and his baked little butt. Of course, if you're not chronically online, you may not know WTF any of that means. The TL;DR is that the Pop-Tarts Bowl hosted North Carolina State University and Kansas State in Orlando and rewarded the winning team with a massive Pop-Tart trophy. Audiences witnessed the mascot, Strawberry, being lowered into a giant toaster holding a sign "Dreams Really Do Come True." Then, he came out hot and ready to be devoured — and devoured he was. (Trust me, if this mascot was the S'mores flavor, I could eat him in his entirety.) Here are the 13 best Pop-Tarts mascot memes and that arose from the unhinged football game.

I put my money on the bird, TBH. Last I checked, birds love eating breakfast pastries.
