Your alarm goes off, you physically peel your eyes apart, and you notice that it is still pitch black outside. If the sun is not up then why are you? You have a goal, that’s why! Workout clothes are a lot like pajamas. They’re comfy, stretchy, and pretty darn cute. Wear your gym outfit to bed; that way you can roll out of bed, onto the floor, and out the door in less than 5 minutes

#SpoonTip: Do you like to press snooze? Put your phone across the room so you have to get up to turn it off. At this point, you’ll already be dressed and ready to go so why crawl back into bed?

2. The Set Up

Save some time and some z’s by packing your bags the night before. If you plan on crushing your workout before class in the early AM, make sure to pack everything you need to be both studious and athletic.

Your shoes are tied and your bags are packed … now it’s time to actual go to the gym. I recommend shoving those headphones in your ear holes and jammin’ to your favorite music. Nothing gets me more hyped to workout than a killer pump-up playlist.

#SpoonTip: Are you constantly hangry? Grab something light, like a banana, to eat on-the-go.

It’s early, I know, but that doesn’t mean you should have a half-assed workout! Give your body some time to warm-up before really getting into your routine. I like to walk on an incline for five to ten minutes just to get my muscles movin’ and groovin’.

Boom. You did it. You’re a pile of sweaty mush on the ground but you’ve accomplished more by this time than most of your friends; they’re probably still drooling on their pillows. Let those post-workout endorphins fly and go tackle the rest of your day.

#SpoonTip: Remember this feeling. It’ll make it easier to get up early the next day, and before you know it you’ll have made a habit out of your early morning gym sesh.
